After being featured at Essence Festival in New Orleans as Verizon’s first “Indie Icon”, Jared Mahone walks off stage and exchanges a smile with his band. They shake their heads thinking back to when this adventure started with a few songs at an open mic in Jared's hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

 

Over the years Jared has also been called Best Male Artist in the International Acoustic Music Awards and has appeared on national TV as a musical guest on Katie Couric’s short-lived NYC daytime talk show, Despite these honors, Jared has no interest in chasing accolades. He favors a troubadour-style adventure touring across the country and brings his tragically optimistic roots-pop garage soul music to listening rooms, clubs, and theaters in any town, USA. ​

 

If you have followed his many many adventures on national tours as a solo artist, you'll have noticed Jared's songwriting took a more organic shift to Americana soul influenced heavily by the intimate venues he frequented. He found a passion for connecting with his fanbase in a more personal way by booking house concerts in private living rooms from coast to coast.

Jared pursues success in writing by crafting heartfelt, original songs from inspired moments. His powerful vocals, soulful melodies, and bracingly raw lyrics hide behind his guy-next-door demeanor and he wins over new crowds one handshake at a time. He brings a sense of intimacy to a show no matter how large the stage. Fans of gritty garage soul, smooth roots pop, and sharp, emotionally charged songwriting drift to Jared’s shows for a sound that’s both timeless and undeniably fresh.

You can currently find Jared in one of three places; writing new music in his midwest home, recording himself or other artists/bands in his commercial studio space in Columbus, or on tour performing concerts around the country.
